Using this methodology...

HELIO's analysts have built a framework and selected indicators to assess and monitor the contribution of energy systems to global sustainability. During its 1999 Workshop at the University of Capetown, South Africa and its 2000 Workshop in Paris, France HELIO validated its methodology and indicators.  From this methodology, a series of indicators (disponible en français) were developed.

The work is managed...

by HELIO International.  The Sustainable Energy Watch (SEW) operates as a "virtual center" managed  The work is globally supervised by a Advisory Group of leading experts from around the world. Regional coordination and review is carried out by Regional Coordinators familiar with the countries covered.

The SEW works in a decentralised manner due to its reporters deployed around the globe and linked to one of the regional coordinators. The reporters' analysis combines quantitative measurements with more qualitative assessments of the local situation: this is the real value-added element of HELIO's Sustainable Energy Watch.
