HELIO International is based in Paris, France. Its small secretariat
coordinates the development and execution of projects, liaises with
energy experts and ensures regional representation on issues concerning
energy sustainability.
Formed in 1997, HELIO is incorporated in France under the 1901 Law for Non-profit Associations and administered by a Board of Administration.
Its work is directed by a ten member Steering Committee who heads
HELIO's global network. The Steering Group is comprised of economists,
geographers, urban-planners, engineers, who are specialized in supply-
or demand-side energy issues.
HELIO International benefits from the guidance of a Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee
(STAC). The STAC is made up of persons who have contributed
internationally to the advancement of knowledge in the
energy-environment field and of representatives from worker unions,
institutes and other non-governmental international organisations.
